Once upon a time two boys went up the Cregga hills in the parish of Kiltrustan to hunt for rabbits. As they were going along a white steed past then out with a headless rider. They ran home and told what they saw. The old people said that it was a gentleman that was murdered there some years ago, and that his head was cut off and brought away.
