  1. There is supposed to be a hidden treasure in the village of Clooncondra in a field belonging to a man named Hanly. Clooncondra was all a wood at one time and the wood-ranger lived in Hanley's field. There was a path out through the wood by which the wood-ranger used to go when he used be going to town. It is said he had a box of gold which he kept hidden under the ground. One day when he was coming from town his horse ran against a tree and both the wood-ranger and horse were killed instantly and no one ever knew where the box
