    can point out the site of one house in which there was a big family ans which is in ruins now. In the end of the Summer of 1845 the people saw a disease coming on the potatoes. They never saw this before and unfortunately enough they did not know what to do in order to prevent it. They put their trust in the following year but the result was that the whole crop failed whilst only some of the crop of 1845 failed. They knew then there was nothing for them only the famine.
