    1. Once upon a time there was a white duck and she had five little sisters whom she loved most tenderly. Their master loved them well but still he was disappointed because they were not laying eggs.
    One day a poulterer came to their master's house to buy the ducks, so the master consented to give the ducks next morning. The ducks heard this and they resolved to go away by night. When midnight came the white duck went out into the yard and (smoke) she smelt her master's house burning. She went back to her sisters and told them to come out
