“Near Boyle is situated the fairies hill and it is said that many people have seen the little man known as the Leipreachán.”
(continued from previous page)home by that short cut again. The man promised that he would never come that way again, so the little man took him to the place where the gold was and gave him the pot. The man was charmed and let his grip of the Leipreachaun go. He started off for home, but looking at his watch he saw it was past two o'clock and by going home the long way he would be an hour later and his wife would be angry. So he retraced his steps, crossed the hill and broke his promise to the little man. When he reached home he was terribly excited and called his wife to see the gold. But alas! gold no longer filled the pot but stones of various shapes and sizes were everywhere strewn. Thus he lost his treasure and never since did anyone capture the little man or his gold.(continues on next page)
