J. Daly Cartron says that he once saw a white blackbird in Rockingham. He says that her feathers turned from black to white with old age, just the same way as a person's hair turns grey when they get old. - The birds most common in my district are the blackbird, thrush, robin, crow and magpie. Other smaller birds are to be found, such as the sparrow, wren and yellow-hammer.
