    Many snow, rain and thunder storms occurred, but there are a few in particular whose dates shall always be remembered.

    During the wind many fish were blown in on land out of Lough Key. It was one of the worst storms ever seen since or before. About thirty years ago there was a terrible thunder storm. It lasted for three or four days and it did terrible damage to both man and beast.

    I have often heard my grandfather talking of the months of the heavy frost which occured about the year 1860.

From November to February the frost continued without ceasing, so that the roads were in a terrible condition. Many accidents occured and horses and other animals had to be shot on account of their injuries. It is said that
