    Long ago there was supposed to be a leipreachán living in Annagh, a district which adjoins my district.

    Pat stretched out his hand and seized leipreachan, hammer, apron and all. He never took his eyes off the little creature for fear he would disappear. Pat then said to him "I have caught you now and you must tell me where I'll find the crock of gold." The leipreachan shivered with fear and his wrinkled face became quite pale and he screamed what was gold! "Now, now, you know quite well" replied Pat. The leipreachan tried to distract Pat's attention by telling him his cows were in the wheatfield.
    Pat never looked round but kept on asking for the gold. "Well," replied the leipreachan, I may as well tell you where it is. Then, said the
