    Once upon a time there was an old man looking for lodgings.

    Once upon a time there was an old man looking for lodgings. One night he came across a big slated house. It was a very cold night and he asked for lodging. A woman put her head out on a window and told him he would get no lodging there. Then he went on to the next house.
    At the next house he was received kindly. He was given a good supper and a bed to sleep in. Next morning when he was leaving he told the people of the house he could grant three wishes. So he asked them what would they like. They wished for a new house, money and health. Next morning a new house had sprung up.
    When the neighbour saw this he came and asked the people how they got this new house. They told him it was an old man that granted them three wishes and they wished for a house. The neighbour then decided to follow the old man. So he took a horse with him and rode fast till he caught up with the old man. He then told him how sorry
