    Hedge-schools in my district long ago.
    We children in our native districts should feel very happy to have our own "National Schools" in which to receive a thorough education compared with that of our ancestors who had to depend solely on the education given to them (by the school-masters behind the hedge. Recently I have gained a little information from my uncle whose father taught in one such school. This school was neither built nor excavated but consisted of a hollow behind a high mud wall fence, in the townland of Boderry,
