  1. In this locality where I live the following cures are still common among the old people.
    A prod of gooseberry thorn will cure a sty in ones eye.
    Many old people in my district say that if you shave yourself with a razor that had shaved a dead man, it would cure a toothache.
    People used to wrap a cob-web around cuts to prevent the bleeding.
    Dock leaves are very common in my district to stop the pain of a sting of a wasp or a bee.
    People used to creep under an ass'belly to cure a pain; also they used to put roasted salt around their neck to cure a sore throat.
    Quaker doctors cures prods of thorns with blessed butter in my district.
