    If you got a very deep cut, put a cobweb on it or chew a blade of grass and put it into the cut to stop bleeding. The seventh son has a cure for toothaches. If a child had the whooping cough and put him under and over an ass three times it will cure it. And if you sew a hairy maggot into a little bag and tie it around a child's neck who has the whooping cough it will cure it.

    There used to be a market in Robertstown and a fair in Miss Gregg's in Kilmeague and that field is still called "The Green". The old people used to buy their goods after Mass that would do for the week. Sometimes they would swop milk, eggs, and tea, for sugar and sometimes they used to work, and the man they would work for (wood) would
