    James Carew was a member of Parliament for North Kildare.

    James Carew was a Member of Parliament for North Kildare. James Kennedy from Rathcoe beat Carew in the election. Carew's last meeting was at the cross of Allenwood. There was a dance in James' Brennan's in Grangeclare and Carew's backers were at it and they sand a song the chorus of which was:-
    "Whiskey hot and porter too,"
    To nourish the herds of Jimmy Carew".

  3. We have a churn at home. It is two and a half feet high, and about eighteen inches wide. We have it sixteen or seventeen years.
    The sides are round and it is wide at the top and bottom and a little bit narrow in the middle.
    The parts are, the dash and the lid. When the cream is sour it is put into the churn and left for a while to thicken.
