- I live in Allenwood North. It is in the parish of Allen and in the barony of Connell. There are about thirty-six families in the townland. Most of the houses in the townland are thatched and there are very few slated houses. There are some old people in the district:- John Coyne is 84 years of age and Mrs Wakeley is 82 years of age. Long ago there were more people in the district, but some of them went away to America and England. the(continues on next page)
