In Kinnegad there used to be a fair called the "fair of the blackthorn stick".

In Kinnegad there used to be a fair called the "fair of the blackthorn stick". A row always started and every man backed his own side, with a blackthorn stick.
Sometimes the fairs were held at crossroads and sometimes the buyers came to the houses of the people.
In the winter some old people wear second stockings and they call them "palts".
