There are a lot of ruined castles around here, Ballyteague, Kilmeague, Blackwood and Carbury. There is a dungeon in Carbury castle where prisoners were kept.
There are ruins of churches in Allen and Lullymore, and Crosspatrick. All those ruins are in graveyards.

There was a hedge school near Jones' and a man named Mr. O'Keefe, used to teach the children. There was a school at the Skew Bridge and then it was a hall, and after that Dunne's from Derrymullen lived in it and now it is a forge. - Collector
