  1. Care of the feet.
    Long ago people did not begin to wear boots until they were eight or nine years of age. The boys used to go without boots the whole year round and now-a-days they go without them only in the Summer.
    If people wash their feet at night it is very unlucky to throw out the water they used.
    The men around Clane wore clogs long ago. The uppers of them were made of very strong leather and the soles and heels of wood. They were very warm in wet weather.
