    It is the custom every year on St. Stephen's day for boys to go around from house to house dressed up. In this part of the country very few men go round. They carry a furze bush and they sing a song. The song is.
    The Wren the Wren the king of all birds.
    On St Stephen's day was caught in the furze
    Although she is little her family is great.
    Rise up landlady and give us a treat.
    We chased her from tree to tree.
    And in Donnely's hollow she broke her knee.
    So up with the kettle and down with the pan
    Give us the money to bury the
