There is a ruins of an old Franciscan Monastery outside Clane. At the time of the Reformation the Monks were put out of the Monastery.
When the soldiers were robbing the Monastery and putting out the Monks one of the Monks turned one of the soldiers into stone and he is still to be seen on one of the walls. But the head is now separated from the body.
