- Killadoon was formerly one of the seats of the Earl of Leitrim, known as The House is a noble mansion standing in a handsome demense situated about 12 mls from Dublin, bordered on one side by the River Liffey and in full view of the Dublin Mountains.
The place was established by the Hon. Hugh Clements father of the first Lord Leitrim and it is still occopied by the same family.
It was formerly a separate parish and the founder of the place was the Hon. Hugh Clements.
