  1. St Wolstans
On the main road to Dublin there is a place called St. Wolstan's in whose grounds is said a thrush never sings. We are told it was a Convent for nuns and during the time of Cromwell all the nuns with the exception of one who escaped were put to death.
This nun was standing in the garden and a thrush was singing over her head when one of Cromwell's soldiers came and slew her and a thrush did not sing there since.
