  1. The Brewery.
    In the centre of the town of Celbridge, opposite the Parochial Church is the house which was once occu-pied by the famous family named Guinness who started their first brewery in a yard which is now more like a field, as the grass has grown up over the cobble-stones, and is to be seen still on the Convent avenue.
    As a matter of fact, there are some of the hop leaves still growing on one side of the avenue but as it is not cultivated it is no use.
    The same well which was used by this family, is still oosing up and
