  1. To cure a sprain you get a bunch of marsh-mallow and put it in a saucepan of water and boil it for about half an hour. Then take it up and let it cool to what you can bear. Then bathe the leg or whatever part is sprained with the water off it. This is done a few times a day till it is better.

  2. There is a cure for a sore throat and it is called "gladam". This is prepared by getting four or five stale of "gladam" and hang it over the five until it gets brown. Then it put a round your throat and a scarf[?] is put around it to keep it on. You keep doing this until it is better.
    If some heated salt is put into a silk stocking and tied firmly around the neck
