  1. If you are unfortunate enough to get this terrible thing called the blast, you can get a bunch of blast herbs and cut it up real fine. Then get about a half pound of lard or dripping and it is put in the pan and melted well.
    When it is melted you put in the herbs and mix up the grease and herbs together. Then after four or five minutes you can take it up and let it cool. To cure it you rub on this ointment in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. If done in time it will get better without delay if not it will be longer (it) in getting better.
