  1. Skeletons: During the summer 1937 excavations were carried out on Carbury Hill. Skeletons were found on the mounds. They appeared to have been those of huge men for the most part & their large firm perfect teeth were most noteworthy. They may have been there since the fifth or sixth century. Some skeletons (probably those of 1798 rebellion) have been dug up from time to time in different parts.
