  1. The Castle Field.
There is a field in Moyvalley called the Castle Field. There was a battle fought there in '98.
One night some men were coming home from work at a late hour and they heard terrible noise. They looked across the wall and they saw the vision of the Pikemen who fought in the battle and they marching round the Castle Hill.
It is called the Castle Field because it is said that the Danes once had a castle in it. Some years ago a cannon ball was found in it.
