  1. Long ago, when the times were bad the sherrif used to ramble around putting the people out of their houses. One time the sherrif gave a call to the Mountain Stage. They banned the two Diggins houses and the news went around quickly. At last a girl from Gleesh named Katie Clifford heard it. She went over to see it. When Katie saw this she ran for a shovel and struck the sherrif. They kept the shovel and sent it back to her gaily decorated.
