  1. There were many fairs long ago that are not there now. The fairs were not held in the towns some of them were held in the country. There was only ol[?] one fair held in my district known as the "Pattern Fair" but the people of Killorglin held a fair on the the previous day and the old Pattern Fair was gradually dying out. The fair was no longer held there.
    The buyers used to go from house to house buying cattle long ago if the cattle were dear. There used to be a great number of fairs long ago that are not there now such as the Pattern and a great number of others.
    There is a place in every town where fairs are held called "Páirc an Aoinig" [?] There are certain fairs during
