  1. Have you ever felt the charm
    Or seen beauty's brightest streaks
When the summer sun at morn
    Shines upon the purple Reeks.

    (II)
    See the sunshine onward racing
    And the shadows flying before
All the hills and vales embracing
    Past the lakes of Currachmóre.

    (III)
    As it sweeps across Beancoiragh
Oh how grand it is to see
    How it glimmers over Mealis
    And goes dancing toward Breanlee.

    (IV)
Any your glance would follow after
Till it went away too far
But in fancy you could see it
    Fill the valleys of Glencar.

    (V)
Now for many years I've watched it
    In the golden summer time
What they missed who have not seen it
    I can't mention in a rhyme.
