  1. Long ago there was an old school in Glenvickee. The man who was teaching there was called Thomas Clifford.
    He had a number of books for the scholars. All the scholars bought the books from him after awhile and the school was burnt. Then he had to go from house to house to teach the scholars.

  2. Long ago there was a hedge school in Eisg Caol. The man who was teaching there was called Michael Coffey.
    A great many scholars came to this school. The teacher supplied them with books.
