    Hasps
    The hasps were made of long nails.
    Thatching
    This was usually done with some kind of "fionán" or with the straw of rye & was tied with the fionan ropes.

  2. The older people made all their own goods. When they killed any animal they would make candles out of the tallow. It was melted and poured into a mould which used to be put steaming on a sod of turf & a nail across the top of it to keep the wick straight. When the tallow would set it used to come out after awhile.

    The trade of making baskets & birdógs is kept in the country yet. They are
