When the flying ants [?swarm] on the ground, and when the soot falls from the chimney bad weather is [?approaching].
- When the sky is full of dark clouds [?moving] to and fro, it is a sign of rain. When the sky is clear and blue, and the [?swallows] flying high overhead fine weather is approaching. When the wind is blowing from the south-west, and when it [?blows] the dust off the road, it is a sure sign of rain. When the stars twinkle it is a sign of frost.(continues on next page)
