  1. Red skies in the evening precede fine morrows. If the sun sets in dark heavy clouds expect rain the following day. A halo around the moon indicates rain. When the stars twinkle frost comes and when high winds blow we can expect rain. When the seagulls come on land, and when the dust of the road is flying we will have rain. A red sky in the evening fair weather but if the red colour extends far upwards it indicates wind and rain. There is a rock up in Mike Murphy's hill and when it shines we are to have rain. When there is fog in Garrygoulane hill rain is approaching.
