  1. A long time ago a man named Bat Doyle lived in Dirreendangon, Mrs White's farm. He used to make all the coffins of the Glen. One night he was going somewhere with a coffin and as he passed the Blasting Rock* at Mr Cotter's orchard he met a funeral of fairies with a coffin on their backs. One of the fairies said "Nach déannach acú Bat Doyle amach[?]." One of the fairy men said to the others: "We will not do any thing to him for he is a very useful man to the people."
