  2. There is an old story told about a fort. The name of this fort is called Dunkilla. It is said that the Danes used to live there in years gone by. The fort is surrounded by trees and there is a large stone in the middle. There are under ground rooms in it. The field all round it is called the laca. There are a great many badgers and rabbits there. It is said to be haunted by fairies. The fort is situated in Richard Alworth's farm at Dunkilla, Tahilla, Killarney - Parish of Sneem.
