  1. Boys here play a game they call "making a haul!". It is played thus : Boys catch hands, say eight or ten boys. Two boys are free. The boys with hands joined endeavour to encircle the others. It represents the seine fishing for salmon in the locality. The pair free are called "the salmon" ; the boys with hands clasped "the net"
    "Making a haul" is the expression used here for casting the net & encircling the salmon.
