“One time there lived a man and when he was coming home from town. It was very late and he had to travel a very bad road near a mountain.”
One Time there lived a man & when he was coming home from town. It was very late and he had to travel a very bad road near a mountain. This was supposed to be haunted.
When he had gone a little way he heard a terrible noise which continued a long time. At last as he went round the bend of the road he heard noises as of saddle horses approaching in numbers & when he came as he thought near them they immediately turned off the road & went up the mountain. He went home very frightened and a neigbouring woman who was then in good health died.(continues on next page)
