  1. Long ago in the pattern, there was a woman making tea at two pence a basin. Her name was Máire Ní hAnga. There was a woman called Peg Rouser buying tea from her and she said to Maire that tea was all water.
    There was an other woman buying the tea also called Sighle Cládpaig, and Sighle had the same complaint about the tea that it was all water.
    Peg was drunk and she struck Máire with her fist and knocked her. Then Máire struck Peg. Crowley Bacaigh and Judy the priest were trying to separate them, but they could not. She had her tent down the strand.
    Crowley Bacaigh was a travelling man who had a gun and a board with three rings on it. The rings were small brass articles with a tack to stick them on.
