  1. There were men there long ago. They were called Whiteboys and they were supposed to have bags of gold. The soldiers were hunting them. They were very near one of them in the "Hotel fields". He hid the gold before he was shot and it is buried there.
    There is another lot of gold buried in Cummeen at the White Stones.
    There is another lot of gold buried in Crom Dan. The Whiteboys offered the gold to a woman there and she was afraid to take it for fear the soldiers would kill her. Then he burned it there.
