  1. When the "soup" was giving out in Kenmare, the OMahony's of Dromore were at the head of it. One day when O'Mahony was giving a speech at the Square, a young man, named James Grady jumped on the platform & caught Mahony by the collar of the coat, and pulled him off the platform, and then fled.
    Father John O'Sullivan was then Parish Priest of Kenmare so James Grady went to his house to hide from the police who were in search of him. Father John gave him permission to stay with him as long as he liked.
