    "Páirc a' leasa" is the name of a field in Timothy Dayl's farm, Leamnaguilea, parish of Ballyhar, Co. Kerry. It is called by this name because there is a "lios" or fort in it.

  2. Up to sixty years ago biotar and buachalán na h-eascaine were herbs used in this district (Gowlane, parish of Firies, Co. Kerry) to effect cures. The latter was used to burst biles. It used to be pounded, and boiled in water. Then a poultice of it was applied to the bile.
