B. One day Egan O'Reilly called into a house. When he entered, the woman of the house snatched a pot from the fire. This pot contained some meat which was being prepared for supper. When Egan had been in the house for some time he was asked to tell a story the words of which are given hereunder:-"Táim bliadhain agus trí fiched an Inid seo chughainn ag triall,
Agus dá mhéid mo ghliotais níl ribhe im 'chúl nach liath:
Im' Shiubhal, ní fheacas cú ná capall i bhfiadhach

B. One day a number of huntsmen killed a deer. Being unable to divide the carcass to the satisfaction of all concerned they appealed to a poet named Muiris A'Cairt to suggest a solution to the problem. He did so in the following words:-
"Ceathrú gan roinnte ag Muiris A' Cairt:
Ceathrú agus a leath ag Muiris A' Chairt;
An ceann agus an stéig ag bhuachaillín an t-sleibhe
Agus an croiceann chun bríste Mhuiris."
