Mickey Barry was a carpenter. He lived up the forge lane at Firies. He wanted an oak tree for making spokes for wheels. He did not believe in ghosts. There were oak trees growing at Batterfield and the old landlord that got them planted was supposed to come back after being dead for years to mind them. One night at twelve o clock (and) Mickey cut one of the trees and when it fell on the ground the old landlord appeared and sat on the trunk. Then Mickey cut and took away the tree except the part which the old landlord was sitting on, and made wheels for his customers.
