- the district in which I am a resident is called Crosses. It is situated three miles out of Monaghan and it is a very fertile district. The probable reason why this district is called Crosses is this; there are four roads which meet and form a sort of crossroad so it is called Crosses. At this crossroads there is situated a hall known as "Crosses Orange Hall" and it was built in the year 1890. In this hall there are meetings, concerts etc . held during the Winter months.
An outstanding deature of Crosses is a hill which belong to Mr. Andy Gillanders. When standing on the top of this hill you can see Dungannon Church spire and also Armagh Church spire. Crosses is a very(continues on next page) - Collector
