6. Bacán:- a piece of iron driven into the post of a gate and shaped [drawing]. The hinge of the gate revolves on it.
7. Cró: Used only for a pig-sty (pig-cró).
8. Creatlach:- a twisted bony man.
9. Dallóg: An old cloth worn by women on their heads to protect them from the sun.
10. Prácas: “He made a prácas of it”. (Badly done).
11. brachán (Gruel):- Very thin porridge
12. praiseach:- Used with the same meaning as “pracás”.
13. Spinnc:- A very steep hill
14. Gob:- He had a gob on him (was displeased).
15. Pus: Similar.
16. Soc: The “sock” of a plough – the part which cuts the ground when making drills.
17. bardóg:- Boxes placed on each side of a donkey’s back to carry manure, turf etc.(continues on next page)
