    Where flowers all
    Both great and small
    Were in their youthful bloom
    To ramble round this country
    It was my chief design
    Until I came to that fair place
    Called lovely Donaghmoyne
    My way did take down by the lake
    Where Manan lies in chair
    And at the bottom of that lake
    I'm told he shall remain
    And there is lies in bondage
    Until the end of time
    And no more he'll gain his freedom
    Through lovely Donaghmoyne
    And as I passed the Chapel cross
    Just as on the level ground
    I stood to view St. Michael's church
    In splendour it did shine
