  1. There was a man living in the parish of Lisdowney whose name was William Loughlin. He was working with a farmer, who sent him one morning to hang a gate. He carried the gate on his back about a mile across the field and threw it into the river. When he came back the farmer asked him did he hang the gate. He said, "no, it was easier to drown it".
    On another occasion a priest met him on the road. The priest wanted to find out if he was a fool. He took a sixpence and a penny out of his pocket and he asked William which would he take. Willaim said "I will not be too covetous I will take the little one".

  2. I ran and I got it, I sat down to look for it, if I had to get it I would leave it behind me and if I did not I would bring it with me?
    Answer.- A thorn in my foot.

    Answer.- A dead one.

    Answer.- A head of cabbage.

    Answer.- The man with the biggest head.
