  1. Starch-making
    Long ago people in Ballydaniel made starch from potatoes.
    First they got some large potatoes and cut them into very small slices. Then they placed them in a vessel and covered them with water. They left them in this condition for a few day. When they strained them the water had thickened and turned into starch, so it was ready for use.
