  1. A man owned a haunted house. At twelve o'clock every night a voice was heard saying, "There is no one here but you and I!"
The man that owned the house paid a man to work there. He had to sleep there as well. When he heard the voice he fled.
The man who owned th house hired another man. When this man was going to bed, he took a glass of whiskey, so as to sleep well. If he slept, he would not hear the voice. At twelve o'clock he awoke. He heard the voice saying, "There is no one here but you and I." These words were repeated many times.
At last the man got out of the bed. He put on one shoe. It was a long time before he could get on the other shoe.
    At last he said:-
"If I could get on my other shoe There would be no one here but you!"
