  1. There is a man living near Durrow and he always threshes by the side of the road. One year he ricked the hay along with the straw. One fine evening in the month of October someome either threw lighting match or a but of a fag into the straw. There was a rick of hay and a rick of straw burned and it could not be fount out who was the cause of it. The flames were seen a mile away.

  2. There was a hay barn and two sheds burnt in castlewood about seventeen years ago James Bergin Durrow lost seven cattle and two ingured. A man ran away with his coat burning he was trying to save it. His back was burned he went to hospital and died
